Time for celebration and glamour!
Christmas is over and done, and preparations are in full action for The party of all parties during the year. And the bubble is just a must, during this glorious celebration... So here is my bubbly tips to fit most budgets. Here are the suggestions in various price ranges.
South African Graham Beck Brut with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for 11 Euro.
A wonderful bubbly wine that can easily be mistaken for Champagne. In a blind test that I had a while ago, the participants agreed that this wine was Champagne. Dry and with a very fresh flavour with hints of red apples, pink grapefruit, bread and nuts provide an extra touch for the celebration.
Graham Beck Blanc de Blancs for 16,50 Euro.
For those of you who want to use some extra pennies to fulfil your evening. I can heartily recommend that you upgrade your Graham Beck Brut bottle to a version with only Chardonnay (Blanc de Blancs). Dry and fruity with hints of green apple, honey melon, crackers and lemon. A real bargain!
Pierre Peters Cuveé de Réserve (nr 7350) för 29 Euro.
Time to upgrade to Champagne. This is my favourite among the standard champagnes. With the finest Grand Cru grapes from Le Mesnil it beats all standard champagne from the large houses with wide margin. A dry, fruity flavour with hints of apples, chocolate, nougat and grapefruit. Our wedding champagne that still delivers great value for every Euro spent.
Diebolt Vallois Prestige Brut Blanc de Blancs (nr 97285) for a bargain price of 40 Euro.
A brilliant Champagne from my new favourite producer D-V. The quality really stands out when you approach this lovely Champagne from Cramant. A dry and very fresh flavour with hints of red Christmas apples, toast, praline and grapefruit washes over the palate. But promise me, not to save it to the next years first minutes ... And please send a message and thank me for the tip!
